The Purcell Custom Contracting team prides itself on a dedicated work ethic, respect for the client, and passion for creating beautiful structures that work in harmony with our breathtaking natural environment. With extensive experience in timber framing, board-formed concrete and other specialized techniques, the Purcell Custom Contracting team has the skillset required to execute complex projects that demand precision and attention to detail.

Purcell Custom Contracting is run by Alasdair Bates. Alasdair started his career in British Columbia where he honed the fundamental skills of building and running job sites, while adventuring in the beauty of the back country.
Eventually, he returned to Ontario to further build his career and settled in Toronto, where he started a small contracting company, working on a variety of projects, including new builds and renovating century homes. For Alasdair, the experience of restoring these older homes re-enforced the importance of building homes that stand the test of time, for the good of the environment and out of respect for the client.

And the name? It’s inspired by one of Alasdair’s favourite places to ski - the rugged and wild Purcell mountain range in British Columbia.
